Significant severe weather event on 1st with thunderstorms, many severe along squall line feature east of ranges and into NSW/VIC. Tornado risk within this line and in any cells ahead
Good rainfall for agricultural areas from fronts on 1st and 2nd before high pressure takes hold with frost risk 6th-9th
El Nino rapidly forming but Australian impacts currently near zero and will only slowly increase from here on in
Slow drying trend through winter into spring but mitigated so long as eastern Indian stays warm
Weaker Positive IOD likely in spring with many areas wet enough to get by. Late frost risk the main worry at this point versus lack of rain
