  • El Nino showing atmosphere-ocean connection with strong high pressure 

  • Decreasing rainfall trends into spring although some mitigation to really dry conditions will occur thanks to a broadly warm Indian and a weaker Positive IOD 

  • Spring will rapidly warm, but especially ahead of cold fronts 

  • Frost risk still remains above average from now through to September at least 

  • Once the continent heats up by later spring and summer, a sudden increase in thunderstorm activity is expected although higher based storms will be more favoured
